Handy Stitch Puts The Power Of A Sewing Machine In Your Hand!

Shane’s Thoughts On The Handy Stitch (a.k.a. Shane’s Handy Stitch Review)

When I first came across this new commercial for the Handy Stitch I about fell on the floor from all of the waves of nostalgia! This is one of the classic As Seen On TV products from my childhood!

The Handy Stitch itself looks to not have changed all that much. It still does a good job of repairing clothing on the fly, as well as crafting. The biggest change that I could notice is that the current offer does not automatically include the plug in adapter or carrying case. (Not a big deal in this rechargeable battery age.)

The included 64 piece thread and bobbin bonus is a nice touch as well. (Although, having an extra large spool of basic color thread for repairs would have been just as nice.)

All in all, the Handy Stitch is still a great handheld sewing machine that will handle almost any job that you can throw at it. We still wholeheartedly recommend this as a buy!

Originally purchased this product because I thought it would be handy to have a portable sewing machine that I could take with me and use away from home for eIt is small, lightweightmergency situations. While I do like the size and ease of use, I am disappointed with how it will not lock the stitches, once you are finished sewing your materials together you have to be extremely careful when removing the machine, otherwise your new stitches will pull out very easily and then you have to start over, I am also disappointed with its lack of power, if you are sewing light weight shirt or Jersey types of materials together, it well sew through easily, anything heavier and it bogs down, it simply does not have the power. Sometimes while away from home and when a full size sewing machine is not available, having a simple spool of thread and a needle is still the best way to go.
