You’re not supposed to put bananas in the refrigerator. Something about the cold air will make them go brown very rapidly. And I can’t stand any banana that isn’t bright yellow, they usually get overripe only a couple of days after I buy them and the increase in the fruit fly population doesn’t help either. So it would be great to have something that keeps them yellow for weeks at a time. But not this, and please keep the Fruedian comments to yourself!

  2. When bananas go bad/brown you make banana bread.

A bag where apes evolved from men? There’s got to be an answer.

  10. Shannon Saeteurn

You’re suppose to eat bananas when they have brown spots. That’s when they are truly ripe.

Beware the beast Man, for he is the Devil’s pawn. Alone among God’s primates, he lets bananas go bad. Yea, he will murder his brother to possess his brother’s monkey bag. Let him not breed in great numbers, for he will make a desert of his home and yours. Shun him; drive him back into his jungle lair, for he is the harbinger of rotten fruit.

0:09 Those bananas look fine. If the furry in the gorilla costume didn’t want them, I would have taken them.

  22. I don’t even want to know, so I am not going there. lol

  23. Exactly. That gorilla is a picky SOB! I still used them even when they are damn near black to make smoothies. I only eat them plain or with cereal when they have just a bit of green left on the skin.

  24. 0:31 Looks like it is also a great defense from flying pickles. Cause we all know bananas and pickles do not mix well.

  25. 1:35 OK that is not a gimmick to save your bananas, it is a gimmick to hang your bananas. It is quite nifty actually.

I don’t know about anyone else, but when bananas go bad in our house (like black peels etc) we make banana bread and banana cakes.

  27. jazzysadler

I don’t know why, it’s entertaining to hear how this dude says the word Bananas

  31. smooshpopper2

First of all, you can still eat bananas when they get spotty. And if they get black skins, you can make banana bread with them.

  32. 1lillyoriginal

But I buy bananas, and they are gone before you blink, and even when they look unappetizing, make banana bread. Also they have a skin, for a reason.

  33. Here’s a thought…… Eat them before they go bad.

  34. AtomMine

oh my god… its not the fucking bacterias that darken the bananas… its the oxydation process

  35. gladitsnotme

Contaminants and bacteria don’t make bananas ripen, their fruit fumes do. wtfff

I thought the PEEL kept harmful bacteria away pretty well. . .

  42. mason s.

In the midwest, in the middle of summer, bananas can ripen about three stages in a day.
